Communicate skillfully: We make it a priority assume the best intentions of others. When in doubt, we ask questions and seek clarification instead of jumping to conclusions. We listen first because we believe the purpose of dialogue is to learn from others, not solely to convey one point of view. While listening, we empathetically take on a perspective that is different from our own. Always solutions oriented, we communicate clearly and directly.

We commit to staying current regarding what is known about how children grow and develop by continuing education and maintaining Gateways credentials. We regularly initiate reflection on information about each child to guide instruction and to support each child in reaching feasible and ambitious goals.

Our team is successful when each person demonstrates flexibility and strong follow through. Our team values relationships and regularly seeks ways to serve each other and the broader school community.

Before being hired at the Cook County Sheriff's Police, I was a “Waddler” teacher at A Mother's Touch of Des Plaines. I interviewed and toured many daycare schools within the area after my move to Illinois 18 months ago. I must say, this facility was the cleanest and most organized child care center in town! The staff members are beyond caring, reliable, friendly, respectful, and loving towards everyone that walks through the front door. The first day I stepped inside, I felt part of the "AMT Family.” The teachers guide and encourage each child, believing that each child can do anything if putting heart into it.
